"Billy is the one that can light up a room and make everyone smile except for himself. Billy has been embarrassed of his smile since he was younger, I have taken several pictures of Billy and not one of them has a smile on his face. I never really noticed until his little girl asked me “how come daddy is never happy when you take his picture?” at that moment is when I realized how much Billy’s teeth has been a negative impact on his life.
Billy is a hard working father of three beautiful girls, working 60 to 70 hours a week to insure his family is taken care of and have everything they need. When his twins were old enough to get braces he took them to the dentist immediately to insure they would not have to experience the embarrassment he has gone through with his teeth.
Unfortunately Billy’s parents did not do the same for him and he has struggled to afford orthodontic care for himself. While obtaining braces and orthodontic care for himself has been a focus of his for most of his adult life, the insurance he has through his job he has worked at for 15 years does not help cover adult orthodontia and while having good intentions with saving the money to get it done, he has always put the needs of his kids before his and has not be able to afford the care he needs.
I would love to see Billy have the confidence and ability to smile without worrying about what others are going to say or think about him. We are getting married in April and I think this would be the greatest gift he could receive. People take the ability to smile for granted, I think until you have seen how it affects someone you love you don’t realize how heartbreaking it can be and how much it effects their life."

“I always hated my smile. It has been the only thing in my life that I haven’t been confident about. I hated getting pictures taken because people would always want me to smile bigger than I wanted to and I would always worry about what the pictures were going to look like when they came back. Winning the smile contest is probably the one thing that has changed my life more than anything other than my wife and kids. Now when I smile I don’t feel worried or embarrassed. Everyone around me has noticed how much more I smile—and they are all amazed at how good it looks now. When I was married back in April, I had just begun to get used to having a nice smile, and it meant the world to my wife that I smiled in every picture. Thank you so much to Dr. Hadfield and the staff for everything and for giving me and my family this smile.”
